A FOUNDATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOUL IN NI

A new community interest company set up in August 2023 to deliver a dedicated  annual soul and jazz festival  and a programme of workshops & events all centred around Soul and Jazz . . .

It all began when Siobhan & David Brown went to the love supreme festival in 2023 & came back so inspired by the joy of soul, the togetherness from a diverse audience and demographics & the high quality soul on offer they realised this is what was needed in Northern Ireland/ROI.

So they came home and immediately set to make it happen without any formal financial backing but they knew it just had to happen. By Feb 2024 with the support of the local people buying tickets and support from Belfast City Council and the Rio Ferdinand Foundation . The Soultrane team pulled off an amazing inaugural event headlined by the UK king of neo soul OMAR! The one day festival was pack full of the highest quality soul music 13 acts from UK, America & ROI and some the best of the local acts from NI all celebrating music of black origin and its culture …..

The stage is now set to continue this amazing legacy and we look forward to sharing it with you!!
